Aliens from space?

No just the new beekeeping suits provided by West Lancashire Mark Charity Fund for the Blackpool Bee Keeping Association.

Semper Fidelis Lodge No 880 with help from the Mark Charities provided these suits, and other equipment, to the Blackpool Bee Keeping Association to help educate children on the importance of bees within our community.

The project based at Lytham Hall will give classroom lessons to groups of children and with the assistance from Mark Charities they will be protected from stings.

Our Provincial Grand Master accompanied by his Special Representative John Forster and the worshipful Master of Semper Fidelis Lodge visited the association at an open day at Lytham Hall on 31st May As well as learning something about bees they also got the chance to sample some honey.
When complete the dedicated area will have a covered classroom area as well as the bee hives, some filled with 30,000 yes 30,000 bees in just one hive!
This picture shows the new area still under construction but with bees in residence. Fundraising is still ongoing to pay for the covered area.
The fun day attracted a lot of little Bee’sssss and well as some well beehaved children who enjoyed hearing about these wonderful creatures.
